Empty (Poem)

Why can’t my mind be empty as well?

My body is numb, sensations no longer dwell.

My room is deafeningly empty, without a soul,

And with my empty eyes, I blankly stare at the white walls.

My hands feel empty, and so very cold,

But no matter how much I beg, no one’s gonna hold them.

Blank is the screen of my phone, on goes the wait,

For that text, which could light up the screen as well as my day.

Even my heart is so fucking void, I shattered it myself,

For it was feeling inclinations it shouldn’t have felt.

The hurricanes behind my teardrops can’t be put into words,

As my horrendous screams have deadened to a mere whisper.

If it’s really all empty now, with only darkness left,

Why is my mind being given the curse to think, why can’t it be empty as well?
