Invisible (Poem)

You were laughing with them; nonchalantly; out there in the sun,

You didn’t tell them, that their jokes were no fun.

Not because you were afraid,

But because you knew, that it was a weary waste.

Their eyes are oblivious to the truth,

For them, you’re just another example of a wasted youth.

The lights flickered, your cries splattered blood,

And yet, they couldn’t make out a single word.

Not because they were deaf,

But because there was no intent left.

And you’re laughing right now, with tears chained behind,

As the dusk approaches, your eyes are gonna rewind.

And the same jokes will make you cry, with a heartache so unimaginable,

That no matter how hard you try, you will always be invisible.
