New Dawn (Poem)
The trees tremble, the winds sing, all in a speck of silence,
And I stand still, embracing the kiss of this enigmatic essence.
My path was once devoid of smiles,
In dreaded darkness, I walked many miles.
Those boisterous clouds rained black, tried to make me bow,
I fetched my palette, and blinded them with the shiniest rainbow.
The thunder threatened to rob me of all love, to seize it right from my hands and swing it into the air,
With my silly smile, I declared,
“How foolish you are to believe,
That my love can even reside in this little palm.
My love, for myself and this vast garden,
Is infinite, immortal and inexplicable.
The air into which you talk of throwing it off,
Is already intoxicated by its scent, draped with its presence.
Whenever anyone feels, to be robbed of love,
They just have to give a glance to the stars,
And my love will fly its way to them, near or afar”.
I took aim, and shot a handful of glitter; right at the darkness,
In no time, I turned the black canvas, into a colourful mess.
The caliginous night was finally gone,
Eyes closed, hand on my heart, I welcomed a new dawn.
